Moulting

Multicolored balloons float randomly
outside this self-containing glass, little
specs of hope in an otherwise empty
sky.

I wonder if I might hitch a ride, ascend
above this earth, transcend the atmospheric
pressure, to a place only seen by those
who’ve shed their skin.
