Unsolved History

I have spent incalculable time behind
this impenetrable glass trying to make sense
of what has happened and who’s to blame,
while those involved continue living, unable to see
me scream and cry and pound my fists, as if
this glass is not transparent, as if
their ears are deaf to pain.
